The Gift of Art

The holiday season is almost here, and everyone will be searching for that perfect gift. The MCL Grand is making plans for its annual holiday art sale and inviting local artists to submit their applications to participate.

Just in time for gift-giving season, The Gift of Art is a holiday art sale exhibit encouraging shoppers to purchase works by local artists. Although this is a holiday art sale, the subject of the art does not have to be holiday-themed. Artists wishing to exhibit and sell art in this show may submit up to five pieces for consideration. The number of accepted pieces per artist will be determined by the total number of submissions and available space.

To better encourage the purchase of art as gift items, we will be setting a limit on higher-priced items. Most pieces should be priced below $300, but a few higher-priced exceptions will be considered. Historically, sales trends for works shown here have generally been between $100-200.

We will group artist work by affiliated arts groups in an attempt to also give more exposure to various art groups in the area. However, interested artists do not need to be affiliated with an art group or organization to submit their works.

The MCL Grand staff will make a final decision for the selection of entries for the show. The decision of the MCL Grand is final and indisputable.

Permission to photograph and reproduce accepted entries for promotional and educational purposes is considered granted unless otherwise indicated by the artist. The MCL Grand requests a commission of 10% of the purchase value of all art sold during the exhibition.

Eligibility

Artists wishing to exhibit/sell art in The Gift of Art show at the MCL Grand may submit up to five pieces for consideration. Number of pieces actually permitted per artist will be determined by total number of submissions and available room.

Entries must be the complete work of the submitting artist. Local, national, and international artists are encouraged to apply. Kits or commercially designed works will not be accepted.

Entries can not have been displayed in the MCL Grand within the past year.
