Denise Helbing - Arts Center Manager
Denise joined the MCL Grand team in July 2017. She comes to Lewisville after spending four years with the City of Dallas, Office of Cultural Affairs at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. She served as Operations Manager, overseeing operations of the world-renowned arts venue. Prior to the Meyerson, Denise spent five years at the Dallas Museum of Art, as the Manager of Partner Programs.
Helbing is a St. Louis native, but has lived the last few years in Lewisville. She has a bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration from Drury University. Before moving to Texas, she was as an Event Coordinator for Contemporary Productions, a St. Louis based events and artist management company where she served as Tour Coordinator for the late jazz and trumpet legend Maynard Ferguson.
Helbing is no stranger to the stage. She has been a member of several singing and theater groups throughout high school, college and after, and has even performed at MCL Grand several times – including the opening weekend festivities in 2011.
Denise lives in Lewisville with her husband Stockton and their two children.
Taylor Dupree - Arts Center Event Supervisor
Taylor joined the MCL Grand team in July 2016 as the Events Supervisor. He is a former student-athlete at Rice University with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. Taylor has over five years of event management experience, working for two premier sports & entertainment venues in Texas – Toyota Center (Houston) & AT&T Stadium (Arlington). He is dedicated to planning & executing exceptional events, creating memorable experiences with clients, and developing more fans of Old Town Lewisville.
J.J. Ceniceros- Arts Center Specialist
J.J. joined the MCL Grand team in April 2018. He has a master’s degree in Communication Studies and Theater from Southern Illinois University and a bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts and Music from Texas A&M University. J.J. started coordinating events when his family opened an exhibition center in Amarillo, Texas. Beginning in 2004, the facility produced concerts and events that featured award-winning Latin, rock, and country bands. He transposed that experience into theatrical production, contributing to performances at festivals and conferences in Kansas City, New Orleans, Tampa, and Austin. J.J. revels in his clients’ success and is honored to coordinate events for the City of Lewisville and its residents.
Aaron Kays - Arts Center Specialist
Aaron joined the team at the MCL Grand in June of 2012 as a part time Theater Attendant, moving to his current position in November of 2015. He attended Sam Houston State University where he received a BFA in Tech Theatre. Aaron has worked in various entertainment fields, from theatre, film, haunted attractions, and street performance, to special effects makeup, designing and constructing sets and costumes, acting, and directing. He loves working in the Lewisville community and helping clients in any way he can. He and wife, Jessica, and their four kids live in Denton.
Betsy Glickman - Arts Center Programming Specialist
Betsy joined the MCL Grand in July 2018 as the Arts Center Programming Specialist, responsible for the theater's Texas Tunes, Black Box Songwriter Series, and other City-sponsored events at the theater. She previously managed live performances at the Dallas Museum of Art, including its Jazz in the Atrium concert series and other public events. Most recently, she worked as the Digital Marketing Manager for Celebrity Series of Boston, a New England-based performing arts presenter. Having formerly served as the Associate Publisher of Texas Music magazine, she brings a longtime love of the Lone Star State's musical heritage to the MCL Grand.
Konni Cooper - Administrative Assistant
Konni joined the MCL Grand team in the summer of 2018. She comes to this department from the City of Lewisville Parks and Recreation Department, where she worked for almost three years. Before joining the city, she worked in public education as a teacher and librarian.
Konni has lived in Lewisville for over 30 years. During that time she has sung in a jazz band and done studio work for local musicians. She is committed to connecting people to memorable experiences at the MCL Grand.
