Greater Lewisville Arts Alliance
Bringing the fine and performing arts to Lewisville is a top priority of the Lewisville City Council. GLAA is dedicated to the development and promotion of the arts for the enrichment of the quality of life in the greater Lewisville community. Volunteers and sponsors always are needed. The purpose of the Greater Lewisville Community Theatre is to stimulate and promote education in the theatre and the performing arts by providing the highest quality of productions possible. GLCT endeavors to broaden and enrich the theatrical experience and participation opportunities for the citizens of not only Lewisville but the surrounding area. The LakeCities Ballet Theatre was founded in 1984 to promote and preserve the art of classical ballet in the Lewisville/Flower Mound area. LBT has strived to present full-length classical ballet performances at affordable ticket prices. While achieving this goal, LBT offers local audiences the opportunity to experience world renown visiting guest artists while also providing a venue for student dancers to perform and train with professional choreographers and dancers. We are a professional, non-profit, IRS recognize 501 (c) 3 charitable organization, whose mission is to develop cultural growth in North Texas. Beginning its' 20th Season in 2012, Our Productions Theatre Co. & Theatre FMPAT challenges audiences through presentation of new, diverse, and classic theatrical productions for both adults and children; raising awareness of important issues through performance; fostering the educational development of future artists (Young Artist Training Program); and preserving the heritage of live theatrical performance for both current and future generations. Established in 1993, it is the only professional theatre company in Denton County, using Actors' Equity Association contracts. | |

Led by Maestro Adron Ming, the Lewisville Lake Symphony is widely regarded as one of the best regional symphony orchestras in Texas. CYT Dallas is an educational non-profit that develops character and creativity in kids ages 5-18 through high quality performing arts training that brings families and communities together. It provides a space to build character and develop social emotional wellness while creating a safe space to develop character on and off the stage. CYT Dallas stands in the forefront in its commitment to the highest standards of excellence. Instructors are professionals, qualified in teaching and/or performing, who understand the mission statement, values, objectives and goals. CYT Dallas offers class sessions three times a year as well as summer camps, and performs 3-4 shows a year on the Main Stage. | |

The Visual Art League (VAL) provided support and promotion to visual artists from Lewisville and surrounding areas, and operates a public gallery where those artists can display and sell their work. Special exhibits are scheduled throughout the year and at supporting businesses. Additionally, the Visual Art League provides art education in the form of classes, lectures, slide presentations, field trips and demonstrations. |

The Cross Timbers Artists' Guild is a group of visual artists who live and work in the neighborhoods of Lewisville, Flower Mound, Highland Village, Double Oak, Copper Canyon, Argyle and Bartonville. The Guild encourages an interest in and appreciation for the creative processes, materials and ideas related to the visual arts. The Guild hopes to inspire students and adults to pursue the visual arts as careers and hobbies, and to increase public awareness that art thrives in area neighborhoods. | |

The Flower Mound Chamber Orchestra was founded in June of 1994 to provide area residents a vehicle for the performance and enjoyment of classical music. Lakeside Arts Foundation is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 charitable organization, formed in 2003, whose purpose is to support and promote local fine arts and arts organizations in the community. LAF hosts several events and fundraiser activities which provide opportunities and grants to local artists and arts organizations. The most well-known of these events is “Chalk This Way” sidewalk chalk art festival, which occurs each Spring, in conjunction with the Greater Lewisville Arts Alliance and other area arts organizations. In addition LAF provides 3 scholarships to LISD seniors who pursue arts-related degrees. All citizens are invited to participate and help support the arts in our community. | |
