Greater Lewisville Arts Alliance

Bringing the fine and performing arts to Lewisville is a top priority of the Lewisville City Council. GLAA is dedicated to the development and promotion of the arts for the enrichment of the quality of life in the greater Lewisville community. Volunteers and sponsors always are needed. Annual memberships also are available at the following levels:

Greater Lewisville Community Theatre 160 W. Main St., Lewisville 972.221.7469 Ticket information: 972.221.7469 glct.org		The purpose of the Greater Lewisville Community Theatre is to stimulate and promote education in the theatre and the performing arts by providing the highest quality of productions possible. GLCT endeavors to broaden and enrich the theatrical experience and participation opportunities for the citizens of not only Lewisville but the surrounding area. We encourage all who are interested to come sample what we have to offer, whether it be acting, directing, music, dance or the technical aspect of the theatre.
LakeCities Ballet Theatre Phone: 972.317.7987 or 972.317.7812 lakecitiesballet.org		The LakeCities Ballet Theatre was founded in 1984 to promote and preserve the art of classical ballet in the Lewisville/Flower Mound area. LBT has strived to present full-length classical ballet performances at affordable ticket prices. While achieving this goal, LBT offers local audiences the opportunity to experience world renown visiting guest artists while also providing a venue for student dancers to perform and train with professional choreographers and dancers. LBT's reputation for quality has grown and its audience is now drawn from the larger D/FW metroplex area.

Beginning its' 20th Season in 2012, Our Productions Theatre Co. & Theatre FMPAT challenges audiences through presentation of new, diverse, and classic theatrical productions for both adults and children; raising awareness of important issues through performance; fostering the educational development of future artists (Young Artist Training Program); and preserving the heritage of live theatrical performance for both current and future generations. Established in 1993, it is the only professional theatre company in Denton County, using Actors' Equity Association contracts.
Lewisville Civic Chorale P.O. The LCC is a choir of volunteers dedicated to bringing performances of sacred and secular choral music of the finest quality to the Lewisville area. New singers are always welcome.
Lewisville Lake Symphony Phone: 972.874.9087 lewisvillesymphony.org		Led by Maestro Adron Ming, the Lewisville Lake Symphony is widely regarded as one of the best regional symphony orchestras in Texas. Founded in 1984, it has grown into a successful orchestra with over 50 highly talented, paid-professional musicians. You may also spot them in the Dallas Opera orchestra, in the pit at the Dallas Summer Musicals at Fair Park, or teaching at one of the area universities.

Its aim and purpose is to provide the opportunity for all residents of the community interested in any phase of theatre to participate and to provide a strong format so that every child can express the creativity within. The ACT produces a season of outstanding musical productions, quality family-centered entertainment, an array of classes during the school year, a teen improv group, and camps during the summer and spring break

It provides a space to build character and develop social emotional wellness while creating a safe space to develop character on and off the stage. CYT Dallas stands in the forefront in its commitment to the highest standards of excellence. Instructors are professionals, qualified in teaching and/or performing, who understand the mission statement, values, objectives and goals. CYT Dallas offers class sessions three times a year as well as summer camps, and performs 3-4 shows a year on the Main Stage.

Charles Gallery Hours: Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Phone: 972.420.9393 visualartleague.org		The Visual Art League (VAL) provided support and promotion to visual artists from Lewisville and surrounding areas, and operates a public gallery where those artists can display and sell their work. Special exhibits are scheduled throughout the year and at supporting businesses. Additionally, the Visual Art League provides art education in the form of classes, lectures, slide presentations, field trips and demonstrations.

Cross Timbers Artists' Guild Phone: 972.219.2405 crosstimbersarts.com		The Cross Timbers Artists' Guild is a group of visual artists who live and work in the neighborhoods of Lewisville, Flower Mound, Highland Village, Double Oak, Copper Canyon, Argyle and Bartonville. The Guild encourages an interest in and appreciation for the creative processes, materials and ideas related to the visual arts. The Guild hopes to inspire students and adults to pursue the visual arts as careers and hobbies, and to increase public awareness that art thrives in area neighborhoods.
Flower Mound Chamber Orchestra P.O. Our mission is to encourage and instruct musicians in the art of orchestral presentation and promote music education and awareness in the community. The orchestra is composed of local-area musicians who volunteer their time and considerable talents for the benefit of cultural awareness in the community and for their own enjoyment of playing in an ensemble.

LAF hosts several events and fundraiser activities which provide opportunities and grants to local artists and arts organizations. The most well-known of these events is “Chalk This Way” sidewalk chalk art festival, which occurs each Spring, in conjunction with the Greater Lewisville Arts Alliance and other area arts organizations. In addition LAF provides 3 scholarships to LISD seniors who pursue arts-related degrees. All citizens are invited to participate and help support the arts in our community.

Selections include comedies, dramas, musicals, mysteries and children's theatre. LCT is a 501c-3 nonprofit community service organization funded by the public through donations, sponsorships, membership dues and ticket sales.

Theatre Coppell has built an outstanding reputation for delivering outstanding non-professional theatre. Theatre Coppell also holds workshops each summer for young actors to learn theatre and performance skills.
