The Dance Arts Center, a family owned business, is located in McKinney at the Community Center and in Lewisville at the MCL Grand. The Dance Arts Center offers classes in Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Baton, Hip Hop, Clog, and Country & Western. The schools offer a friendly and fun atmosphere which enables the students to gain confidence, poise and grace. LouAnn Martin Vance and Perry Martin, along with their highly qualified and friendly staff, make dancing fun for all the children, teens and adults who want to learn to dance. The Dance Arts Center is an ongoing dance program. Classes are held September through May with a recital in the spring. Dress rehearsal and recital will be on the same day. To ensure a quality learning environment, we have two visiting days per dance season. Child must be potty trained or in pull-ups.

Tuition

Due before the first day of each class session. No exceptions. (Registering at least one week before each class session starts is preferred so instructor can plan accordingly). If you have any questions, please call the Recreation Centers, 972.219.3560 or 972.219.5061. Each student who adds a second DANCE class per month will get a $15 discount off the second class.

Attire

Preschool - Students are required to wear a leotard and tights any color. No skirts or tutus are allowed in the dance room. Required pink ballet shoes by Bloch and black tap shoes by Bloch or Capezio (gripper sole advised).

School Age - Students may wear DAC Dance Tees with tights and either boy shorts or Jazz pants. Required beige jazz shoes by Bloch or Capezio and and black lace up tap shoes (with gripper sole by the same brands.

Summer Classes

Join us for this four week summer dance session. The last day of class will be a parent’s watch day. This is a great opportunity for your child to continue with dance through the summer or get them acquainted with dance. Child must be potty trained or in pull-ups.

Fall Classes

Please note the following dates:

• No class 11/20 - make up class on 11/29
• No class 12/25 - make up class on 12/13
• No class 11/21
• No class 12/26 - make up class on 12/20

There will be a parent’s information and registration day on Aug. 21 from 4-7 p.m. at Medical City Lewisville Grand Theater. You do not need to attend this day in order to register for the fall dance program; however, the instructor will be on hand during this time to answer any questions that you may have or simply to meet your child.
