Texas International Pop Festival: 5op 50 Years Later exhibit

The City of Lewisville, in conjunction with the Denton County Office of History and Culture, presents the Texas International Pop Festival: 50 Years Later exhibit, opening Saturday, Aug. 31, at Medical City Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street. The exhibit will be on display in the Main Art Gallery through Saturday, Oct. 19. Gallery hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 10 a.m - 5 p.m.

The exhibit will feature pictures, artwork, clothing, and many other items from that magical Labor Day weekend in 1969 when artist such as Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, B.B. King, Edgar Winter, and Chicago Transit Authority rocked the stages at the Dallas International Motor Speedway and Lewisville Lake.

MCL Grand is the premier public arts facility in southern Denton County. The 40,000-square-foot city-run center features a 300-seat performance hall, black box theater, recital hall, art gallery, and classrooms. It opened in 2011 and offers more than 200 public performances and exhibits each year. Medical City Lewisville has a multi-year naming rights agreement with the center.
