Medical City Lewisville Grand Theater (MCL Grand) opened its doors with a three-day celebration on Jan. 14-16, 2011. The center is located at 100 N. Charles Street, between Main and Church streets, in the heart of Old Town Lewisville. Administrative offices and art gallery are open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

MCL Grand gives the many arts groups in the Greater Lewisville area a facility to perform and display their works and also hosts other regional and national shows and exhibits, events, classes and meetings. The facility features a 296-seat theater with acoustics designed for both speech and music, a 2,200-square-foot art gallery, a 2,400-square-foot dance recital hall, 3,000-square-foot black box and 1,750 square feet of classrooms. A courtyard from Charles Street to the theater lobby is large enough to host small outside performances and dinners.

Page Sutherland Page architectural firm designed the center, which draws upon similarities to the existing buildings in Old Town Lewisville. Several local arts groups provided input in the planning stages of the facility. Tax Increment Refinance Zone bonds funded most of the project.

Our Productions Theatre Co is happy to announce the 4th annual Play Readers Club. This club will meld both arts patrons and professionals together to explore both new (and classic) scripts in a “Book Club” style approach. Join us for a new script each month, and take a reader’s role … or just listen, as we read a work together and then discuss it, book club style. Donations welcome. Refreshments served. Suggested age 17 and up. The Play Readers Club will meet at the MCL Grand, 100 North Charles Street, Lewisville, Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. No tickets are needed for the Play Readers Club event, which will be FREE with donations accepted at the door. We hope to see you there at this fun, informal, educational community event. The 2020 Play Readers Club is sponsored in part by The Town of Flower Mound and The City of Lewisville.

Thursday, March 26 2020 - 7:30 p.m.: - THE JOY OF PUBLIK SKOOL by Mikey Abrams. After fifteen frustrating years in an inner city high school, a gay, Jewish drama teacher swears this year will be his last. His dream: to be a full-time actor. School’s out for Mista – or is it? In this tart, too-honest one-man comedy, writer-performer Mikey Abrams doesn’t filter reality. Just makes it funnier.

To reach MCL Grand from Interstate 35E, take exit 452 and proceed east on Main Street to Charles Street. MCL Grand will be on the left. Free public parking is available along Main and Church streets, or at Lewisville City Hall.

For details about upcoming events, or rental information for the facility, please visit MCLGrand.com or call 972.219.8446.
