VAL Art Talk - Deb Hart

November_DebHart

The Visual Art League of Lewisville VAL holds its general meeting on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. Each month in conjunction with the general meeting, VAL produces an “Art Talk” series of known speakers and art demonstrations. Visitors are welcome to attend any meeting.

Deb Hart is a polymer clay artist who lives and works in Rhome, Texas. A native of Lake City, Minnesota, her colorful sculptures display her unique vision of Southwestern art. Her distinctive style is a fusion of millefiori technique, Native American symbolism, animals and icons from the American Southwest, and custom sculpted boxes and containers. Her art is bold and vibrant - unique and recognizable in the growing polymer art community. She has taught on multiple websites, written tutorials and articles for polymer magazines, created video classes, and traveled the United States to teach workshops and demos.

Deb’s polymer clay art is currently on display at the Art House Gallery in Highland Park north of Flower Mound, Texas and has been available at the Museum of Modern Art gift shop in Fort Worth, Texas. She has been featured in numerous polymer clay magazines and blogs and was honored to be included in Polymer Journeys 2016, a book recognizing many of the most masterful and important polymer clay pieces of 2014-16. Deb is an active member of several polymer clay guilds in Texas and Oklahoma and exhibits with the talented members of the Grapevine Arts Project in Grapevine, Texas.
