Friday, Oct. 18, 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

In conjunction with the closing of the Texas International Pop Festival: 50 Years Later exhibit, the MCL Grand presents a free screening of the 1969 counterculture blockbuster, Easy Rider, on Friday, Oct. 18, at 1:30 and 7 p.m. Each event will open with a screening of Lewisville Looks Back: Texas International Pop Festival, a short documentary recently commissioned by the City of Lewisville. Then, attendees can experience an American classic starring Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper, who play two hippie bikers that travel from L.A. to New Orleans searching for the meaning of life. On the way, they find a mix of comfort and violence. Easy Rider is rated R. Both films contain mature adult content and may not be suitable for young audiences.

There will be free popcorn served at the event.
