Lewisville Lake Symphony presents “Opera!”

Adron_Ming_Orchestra_photo_credit_Margaret_Nath Lewisville Lake Symphony presents “Opera!” on Friday, Sept. 13, 7:30 p.m., at Medical City Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street.

Mezzo-soprano Hilary Grace Taylor and soprano Samantha Dapcic will be the featured soloists at the first concert of the 2019-2020 Lewisville Lake Symphony season. The two vocalists are first and second place winners of the 2019 Lewisville Lake Symphony International Voice Competition. Both Taylor and Dapcic have performed nationally and internationally, and both are doctoral students at the highly acclaimed College of Music at the University of North Texas. The concert will feature arias from such favorites as Bizet’s Carmen, Puccini’s La Boheme, and Rossini’s The Barber of Seville. In addition, the symphony will perform familiar selections from operas by Verdi, Gounod, and others.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $10 for students. Purchase tickets online at lewisvillesymphony.org. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Lewisville Lake Symphony is one of eight local groups receiving funding from a City of Lewisville grant program designed to foster cultural and fine arts in the community.

Located in the heart of historic downtown Lewisville, MCL Grand is the premier public arts facility in Southern Denton County. The 40,000-square-foot facility features a 296-seat proscenium theater, black box theater, dance recital hall, art gallery, five art classrooms and a large courtyard. Medical City Lewisville has a multi-year agreement with the city for naming rights at the center.

To reach MCL Grand from Interstate 35E, take exit 452 and proceed east on Main Street to Charles Street. MCL Grand will be on the left. Free public parking is available along Main and Church streets, or at Lewisville City Hall across Church Street from the center.
