Take a stroll through the MCL Grand’s North Corridor Gallery to view glass on canvas works by local artist Becky Kerbow. The exhibition, which is open through November 24, highlights Kerbow’s unique interpretation of landscape in an abstract format.
“I want the viewer to have a visceral connection with every piece and feel the emotional impact of the piece,” says Kerbow. Some of her work includes the intensity of ocean waves cresting to shore using broken glass. Other pieces include a Texas flag, seahorse, and contemporary abstracts.
Kerbow began studying oil painting at the age of 12, and since then, has taken a variety of art classes, including studying at the University of North Texas. Most recently, she was influenced by Mary Hong, a renown Floridian artist using the same medium. Kerbow recently placed second in the Visual Art League of Lewisville’s Wild and Free Exhibit.
To reach MCL Grand from Interstate 35E, take exit 452 and proceed east on Main Street to Charles Street. MCL Grand will be on the left. Free public parking is available along Main and Church streets, or at Lewisville City Hall across Church Street from the center.
